Bibury, often described as one of the most beautiful villages in England, is a must-visit destination in the heart of the Cotswolds. The village is famous for its idyllic setting along the River Coln and its stunning stone cottages that date back to the 17th century. Chief among these is Arlington Row, a series of picturesque weavers’ cottages that have become one of the most photographed spots in England. Originally built in 1380 as a monastic wool store, the cottages were converted in the 1600s for local weavers and still retain their rustic charm.

Visitors to Bibury will be enchanted by its timeless atmosphere, where meandering lanes and the tranquil river create the perfect backdrop for a peaceful getaway. The Bibury Trout Farm, one of the oldest trout farms in England, offers a unique experience where guests can try their hand at catching their own fish. Afterward, enjoy a relaxing picnic by the river or take a scenic walk around the farm’s beautiful grounds.

Nature lovers will appreciate Bibury's close proximity to some of the Cotswolds' most scenic walking trails. A stroll along the River Coln reveals wildlife, wildflowers, and quintessential English countryside views. The nearby St. Mary’s Church, with its Saxon origins and Norman architecture, offers a glimpse into Bibury’s long and storied past. Its quiet churchyard is the perfect place to pause and take in the history of this serene village.

Fun fact: William Morris, the celebrated 19th-century designer and writer, once called Bibury "the most beautiful village in England." His appreciation for Bibury’s unspoiled beauty has continued to inspire visitors and artists alike, making this charming village a quintessential stop for anyone exploring the Cotswolds!
